Tyler Perry is an actor, writer, producer, director and playwright. He began his career in the 1990s, writing, producing and starring in several stage plays, and soon transitioned to film and TV. In 2005, he released his first film, "Diary of a Mad Black Woman," featuring Tyler portraying the character of Madea, the role he is most identified with. He has since written, produced and directed over 20 films, including "I Can Do Bad All By Myself," "Good Deeds" and "A Madea Family Funeral." He also appeared in films such as "Gone Girl" and "Vice." Perry has also created multiple series for the OWN network, including "House of Payne" and "The Haves and the Have Nots." His new film “Tyler Perry’s Duplicity” streams March 20 on Amazon Prime Video.
