46-Year-Old Hat Store Fights To Keep Doors Open

For more than 46 years, Hatbox has been the go-to place for top-of-the line custom hats. The store has serviced A-listers, including Elvis Costello, Wyclef Jean, and James Taylor. Despite their past success, store owner and founder Lauri reveals that the pandemic has been the biggest hit her business has ever faced. She had to lay off staff and cancel huge business events due to the shutdown. In order to help Lauri, Pilot Pens awards her $1,000 to keep her shop going. Lauri right away states that she would give the money away to an employee who had been working for free, so Kelly offers her $1,000 to keep for herself.
